Positive Reviews

An ideal location for sightseeing.

Guests can reach most of the major tourist sites, including the River Danube, Vaci Street, Gellert Thermal Baths, and Hungarian National Museum in five to fifteen minutes on foot. Those who wish to explore further out can catch the metro at Kálvin Square station, just a few steps from the hotel entrance. There are also many restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets well within walking distance.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Many guests give the reception team high marks for their friendly, helpful service. Several note that while the staff is fluent in English, they are also patient with international travellers eager to try out the Hungarian phrases learned for the trip.

Clean, cosy rooms...

The rooms are often described as spotless, quiet, nicely furnished, and compact, though efficiently arranged. Guests in the Privilege Rooms enjoy a little more space as well as access to a private lounge with a daily breakfast buffet, which receives high marks for quality and variety. The breakfast buffet available in the hotel restaurant is similarly well received, though it is not inexpensive in comparison with the many restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood.

Negative Reviews

A long walk over the bridge...

The hotel is composed of two buildings connected with a bridge, and some who stay in the further, "B" wing find it a bit of a hike from reception.

There may be such a thing as too cosy...

Guests almost universally describe the rooms as small. Few are surprised by the room sizes given the hotel's premium location, and while many simply find the close quarters a little inconvenient, others feel truly cramped and uncomfortable. Privilege rooms and suites offer the most space.

Hot and bothered...

Several guests ran into plumbing or air-conditioning issues during their stay, while others were bothered by noisy neighbours.
