Positive Reviews

A room with a view.

Guestrooms at Dovecliff Hall offer fantastic vistas. You'll either be looking out across acres of lovely gardens or at The River Dove. Whichever you end up getting, it's a delightful thing to open your curtains up to in the morning.

It's in a good position.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to the centre of Burton on Trent and not too far from Derby, meaning there are lots of options for eating out and exploring the towns.

The building is lovely.

The hotel is set in a beautiful old house, with picturesque grounds to match. Guestrooms are very clean with plenty of space to spread out. All in all, it is a relaxing atmosphere. The history of the place is interesting too.

Negative Reviews

Time for some new mattresses.

Some of the beds at Dovecliff Hall are definitely ready to be replaced. A few of them tend to be a little saggy and are therefore nowhere near as comfortable as you would like.

In and out.

The Wi-Fi at this hotel is a bit patchy in certain areas. The connectivity tends to be intermittent, so you might quickly get frustrated if you are hoping to spend any amount of time online.

It's a bit tired in places.

While the hotel is in a lovely old building with a great history, there are still a few areas that could probably do with a slight revamp, as some of the décor is starting to feel a little worn.
