Positive Reviews

Cosy and comfortable getaway.

Guests uniformly thought the rooms were spacious, warm, clean and inviting. They also appreciated the extra options in the room including a large flat-screen TV, many channels, and spacious if not stylish bathrooms. Guests found the beds comfortable and t

Quaint surroundings.

The 500-year-old building has lots of character, including a stained glass ceiling over the reception area. Guests loved the hotel’s location not far from the picturesque town centre and popular attractions as well as a micro-brewery pub.

The staff is lovely.

Customer service is highly praised by most guests who found them to be friendly, detail-oriented, and responsive to requests. They are also very helpful to families with small children.

Negative Reviews

A few old building quirks.

Some guests found the sash window designs hard to operate and as a result, also found rooms either too hot or too noisy from exterior road traffic especially when the in-room air conditioning did not work well.

In need of an update.

Some guests noted that furnishings were a bit outdated if not shabby – including holes in upholstery and bedding and worn carpets. A few noted a musty smell in their rooms. Shower tempreture controls in the bathroom are apparently a bit unpredictable.

The sofa-beds can be hard.

Guests who used the en-suite sofa-beds found them to be a bit uncomfortable if not hard.
