  • Hotel Caitin's Cahersiveen

Overlooking Dingle Bay, midway between Glenbeigh and Cahirciveen, Caitin's pub is a traditional old-style Irish bar and B that has been run by the same family for over a hundred years. Caitins is believed to have been one of the first legalised ‘shebeens’ in Ireland. Steeped in history and folklore, the pub has been patronised by some of Irelands most famous people, such as Daniel O’Connell and the literary great Brendan Behan. The pub has evolved over the centuries from a two-room ‘shebeen’ to one of the most famous stopping-points on the Ring of Kerry. Caitins is located beside the impressive old GSWR railway viaduct. It has among its many attractions a splendid collection of photographic memorabilia, which depicts the local area from the early 1800s. Caitins accommodation has just been renovated and now provides very high quality rooms. Rates are reasonable and our staff are friendly and helpful. With a pub downstairs, and a communal lounge, you should have no trouble meeting other travellers. more
