Positive Reviews

Close to town centre, but quiet

This property's location was its biggest draw and past guests report that many of the city's main sites - including its famous cathedral as well as an array of pubs, restaurants and shops - can be found a few steps from this B&B. Given its proximity to the city centre, you'd be forgiven for thinking that noise is an issue here, but it turns out that this property is decidedly peaceful, ensuring that guests always get a good night's rest.

Parking is a perk

This property may not offer a huge range of guest amenities, but those it does provide are very solid and go a long way to enhance the overall experience here. For example, to the amazement of guests, this B&B offers free on-site parking. This particular perk was especially impressive to those familiar with this historic city, where parking is at an absolute premium.

This period property has character. The Georgian interior as well as the obligatory meet-and-greet from the B&B's two resident cats only added to the quirky feel of this B&B.

Negative Reviews

Mind those stairs

The older building in which this property is situated is not without its quirks. A number of guests have commented that the narrow stairs here give the B&B a maze-like feel and some have commented that the steep gradient could be unsuitable for those with mobility issues.

Bigger is better as far as breakfast is concerned

While the overall quality of the breakfast offerings here is excellent, many feel that the portion sizes of the full English could be bigger.

Toilet trouble

A number of rooms feature private but separate toilet facilities. This layout may very well be a concession to the age of the property, but many guests would have preferred en-suite bathrooms.
