Positive Reviews

Hospitable and friendly staff.

Guests were very complimentary about their hosts, describing the hotel's owners as very approachable and friendly. They often went out of their way to assist the guests and were always on hand to give helpful information with regards to the local area such as recommending good restaurants and interesting tourist attractions.

Relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Many enjoyed having their breakfasts and afternoon tea on the hotel's porch and being able to chat and meet other guests. The overall atmosphere was said to be informal and laid-back and many appreciated the home-away-from home ambience.

Fresh and tasty breakfasts.

The breakfasts have been described as fresh and very filling with plenty of choice on offer. Guests could choose from freshly cooked dishes through to the wide variety of cold items including cereals, fruit and yogurts. Many also appreciated the fact that the offerings were home- made such as the tasty chutneys and marmalades.

Negative Reviews

Too many stairs.

Guests whose rooms were located on the upper floors of the building objected having to climb several flights of stairs which were said to be quite narrow, every day in order to get to their accommodation. If you have mobility issues its advisable to ask for a room on the ground floor.

Issues with showers.

Most of the rooms have baths with an attached hand-held shower which some guests said was quite cumbersome to use. Many reported that they did not have enough room in the bath to have a shower and that they objected to the shower curtain clinging to them due to lack of space.

Problems with air-conditioning.

The air-conditioning units were said to be quite noisy which made guests reluctant to use them especially in the evenings as many said that they prevented them from sleeping.
