Positive Reviews

Clean and beautiful rooms with little extras

A highlight of this property for guests was the interior design. Many said their rooms were well-appointed and inviting. Moreover, the rooms were routinely described as being spotlessly clean and comfortable with cosy beds. Reviewers also loved the free designer toiletries in the en-suite bathrooms.

Good hospitality

Many reviewers said this guest house felt like a home away from home thanks to the great customer care they received from their friendly, obliging and professional hosts.

Handy suburban location was quiet

Not only was this property’s location in Rondebosch extremely convenient for visitors to the University of Cape Town, which was just a short walk away, but it was also close to a railway station for regular services into downtown. Furthermore, there were several dining options nearby and the location was often described as being quiet.

Negative Reviews

Parking grumbles

Overall, drivers appreciated the free on-site parking. However, there was criticism from several motorists about the limited number of spaces, which were also said to be quite narrow for those with larger vehicles.

Room temperature concerns

Reviewers noted that during the hottest and coldest weather it was sometimes tricky to adjust the room temperature to their liking at this property. Some were disappointed that air conditioning wasn’t provided in every room. Others wished there had been individual climate control available so they could have turned the heating up when it was chilly.

Stairs were tricky

Guests with limited mobility who were staying on the upper floors occasionally bemoaned the lack of a lift as they had to negotiate a few flights of stairs.
