Review Highlights
Positive Reviews
  • There's no shortage of things to do

Previous guests were thrilled with the many resort amenities and activities South Seas offers. In addition to typical amenities like pools, tennis courts, a spa, and a golf course, the resort has swimming lessons, photography sessions, and art classes. Guests who were traveling with their families found that there was something for everyone to enjoy.

  • Customer service with a personal touch

Those who left reviews of this resort routinely remembered the staff they interacted with and mentioned them by name, and for good reason. With guests typically staying for a week or more, the staff really takes the time to get to know everyone and customize their vacation experience accordingly.

  • It's the very picture of tranquility

One word guests frequently use to describe this resort is "quiet". It's surrounded by a beautiful 330-acre wildlife preserve, and bordered by two and a half miles of private beach, which makes the place feel like a secluded oasis, perfect for families or romantic getaways.

Negative Reviews
  • It's very expensive

South Seas Island Resort is one of the more expensive places to stay in the Sanibel area. For some guests, the cost was simply not worth it for the quality of the accommodations. Some guests also felt that the prices at the resort's eateries and their on-site grocery store were too high.

  • It's a bit secluded

What was the best quality of the resort for some was its biggest drawback for others. From the resort, it's a bit of a drive to the attractions on Sanibel Island. Many guests did not wish to eat at the resort's restaurants or shop in their stores, and found the daily commute to other eateries and shops tiresome.

  • Night owls beware

South Seas is located in a sleepy beach town seems to pride itself on its quite atmosphere. Guests tried to stay out late and pursue nightlife options found themselves disappointed. There's very little to do in the area late at night, and most of the resort's amenities close rather early.
