Positive Reviews

Superb dining experience.

Aside from the restaurant, there is also an outdoor dining area and a courtyard where you can dine or drink with your friends. Arcoaballeno, the restaurant just across the street, serves delicious seafood dishes. There are also cafés around the hotel and bars near the beach.

Close to the airport and other interesting cities.

Romano Palace is just between the airport and the city of Catania. Moreover, the historical and archaeological cities of Taormina in the north and Siracusa in the south are not very far away. Sicily and Etna can be easily reached as well.

Excellent breakfast.

Breakfast offers a fine selection of fresh pastries and fruits, tasty yoghurts, cheese, cold meats and more. Guests are raving about the cooked pancetta and the chicken frankfurter-type sausage. Regular breakfast deals like eggs, bacon, coffee and tea are tastefully done.

Negative Reviews

Problematic airport shuttle services.

The free airport shuttle service the hotel provides has only two departure time - ten in the morning, and five in the afternoon. The service is not that efficient either, as it would take you around 40 minutes to get to the airport because the shuttle has many stops before reaching there. However, the airport is actually near, and taking a taxi will not cost much.

Dismissive and unfriendly receptionists at times.

The staff members at the reception might give you the impression as if they don't want you there. There may be times when your requests will be ignored as well. Be patient in making requests, and if nothing still works out, you can always talk directly to the manager in charge.

Pool and beach area are not well maintained.

The beach is unkempt, with many junk food wrappers outlining the shore. Sometimes, the pool area is barely functioning as there is often no staff to maintain it.
