Inn has been said to have great hospitality.

There were a number of positive comments about the warm and welcoming manner in which guests were treated by staff members during their stays. Most visitors said they found staff to be very kind and friendly.

A wonderful and historic building.

People have appreciated the fact that the building has historical importance as it has been said to have been the former home of John Rutledge and has been visited by many important historical figures. Several guests also said they felt the property was beautifully appointed.

Negative Reviews

Rooms on the first floor may not be the best.

There were a few remarks about rooms on the ground floor actually being below ground and sometimes having a bit of a musty smell. It has been suggested to try to book other rooms.

Stairs may be problematic.

There were a few remarks that the stairs at the inn may be troublesome for people with mobility issues.

A couple of random complaints.

Most people enjoyed their visits to this property and complaints were limited. There was one complaint about the hallways sometimes being noisy. Another guest had issues with reservations not being booked properly; one other guests said they were not served breakfast during their stay because a chef never showed up.
