About The Bunkroom

The Bunkroom is a cosy and modern hostel situated just a short walk from the city centre of Chester. It’s encompassed inside a Georgian townhouse that’s more than a century old, giving this building a great deal of character.

Guests can choose among a number of different accommodation options, ranging from rooms that sleep two to six people. Bathrooms are en-suite, and there are self-catering facilities as well as free tea and coffee.

The hostel has its own lounge and outdoor garden area where guests may barbecue or simply spend some relaxation time.

In addition to the self-catering facilities, guests can also choose to eat at the nearby restaurants, cafes, and pubs.

Chester Rail Station is just a two-minute walk from The Bunkroom, and bike rentals are available for guests to get some exercise and explore the lovely town of Chester and its nearby surroundings.

Positive Reviews

Comfortable Place to Stay

Guests have said that the accommodations at The Bunkroom are comfortable and inviting. From the fresh linens to the complimentary tea, coffee, and Wi-Fi, it will feel like a home away from home, and has all of the basics you could need for a comfortable stay.

Close to City Centre

If you're looking for a place to stay that's convenient for navigating Chester and its surroundings, you'll find The Bunkroom to be ideally located. It's a two-minute walk from the train station, and there are also many shops, cafes, and pubs within close proximity as well.

Friendly Staff

The staff at The Bunkroom are welcoming and pleasant. If you have any questions or need assistance during your stay, just ask one of your gracious hosts, and they'll be certain to help you out in any way that they can.

Negative Reviews

No Parking

There isn't any private parking onsite, so you'll likely have to park across the road for a small fee. With that being said, many visitors have said that it's not difficult to navigate the area on foot or by riding a bike, so you may not need to drive anywhere during your stay.

Wi-Fi Can Be Patchy

The complimentary Wi-Fi is convenient - when it works. Some guests have found that the signal is spotty and that it can be difficult to stay connected to the internet at times. You may find that certain areas of the hostel get a stronger signal than others.

Only One Toilet

Although the restroom facilities are en-suite, the hostel arrangements require guests who are sharing rooms with other strangers to share the restroom facilities. As such, some would prefer to have multiple bathrooms, but this is simply how the hostel accommodations are set up.
