Positive Reviews

Yummy breakfasts and friendly service

Reviewers spoke highly of the customer service, saying they dealt with members of staff who were helpful and pleasant. Diners were upbeat about the cooked breakfasts, describing them as freshly-prepared and delicious. There was praise for the relaxed atmosphere. The pleasant cafe next door serving teas, coffees and cakes was another bonus.

Central Lakeland location in traditional village

Guests often said this property's peaceful location in Coniston village made it an excellent base for walking, rock-climbing and cycling in the magnificent scenery of the surrounding Lake District National Park. Drivers were just off the A593 and a short drive from the A590, A591 and A595, making it quick and easy for them to reach area attractions, beauty spots, mountains, lakes and railway stations. Another plus was the proximity of a petrol station. Furthermore, bus stops plus village shops, dining options and amenities were all within easy walking distance.

Praise for clean and comfy rooms

According to many visitors, the rooms were tastefully-decorated, clean and comfortable, benefitting from modern bathrooms and, in many cases, picturesque views of the mountains.

Negative Reviews

Nuisance noise encountered

Although many reviewers enjoyed a peaceful stay, noise from adjacent rooms was sometimes audible and caused a nuisance for some light sleepers.

Free Wi-Fi could have been better

The free Wi-Fi network was a bonus for travellers. However, there were occasional reports that the signal was weak in some areas of the property. Underwhelming speeds were also encountered from time to time.

Parking arrangements weren't ideal

Guests appreciated having a public car park just across the road. However, during peak periods when spaces were at a premium, some drivers faced difficulties locating convenient car parking nearby.
