About Deal Station

Deal Station is in Deal, in east Kent. The station and train services are operated by Southeastern Trains and services go in one direction to Ramsgate and Margate and in the other to London via Dover, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. Travel to London takes just over two hours. Since the end of 2011 Deal has also been served by HS1 travelling on the new high-speed rail link from the coast to London St Pancras. Three of these services operate daily each way to Deal, with a journey time of eighty minutes.

The ticket office is manned from 5.45am to 7.10pm Monday to Saturday and 7.30am to 4pm on Sunday, but there are also self-service ticket machines. In terms of passenger facilities the station has a buffet, waiting room and toilets. There is a station car park which is operated independently.

The first station at Deal opened in 1847. When Deal was a thriving seaside resort regular services used to run to destinations such as Manchester and Birkenhead in the north west. Of historical interest is the Art Deco signal box dating from 1939.
