Positive Reviews

Great breakfast

Guests to this bed and breakfast say it succeeds mightily in one of its most important endeavors: providing a tasty, fresh-cooked breakfast. Guess say they appreciate the full Irish breakfast that's available each day, and that the tea room is a lovely, quaint space to dine in. Additionally, the inn's adherence to special guest dietary requirements is a bonus.

Quick access to town

Guests appreciate how quickly they can access the many pubs and shops of the town. Derry's town centre is only a few minutes' walk, and guests specifically point out that its location in Bogside puts it only minutes from the Bloody Sunday Memorial.

Ownership impressive

The owner of Abbey, Seamus, receives many accolades from guests. He is reportedly thoughtful and courteous, and really adds a pleasant character to the bed and breakfast that is not overlooked by guests.

Negative Reviews

Thin walls

The walls here are reportedly a bit too thin. Several guests have complained of road noise and noise from within the inn that can prove disruptive during the evening. If you're a light sleeper, you'll want to keep this potential problem in mind.

Rooms only with the essentials

As a budget inn, Abbey's six non-smoking rooms feature bare amenities. Guests say you're only getting the absolute essentials here, which sometimes leaves them wanting a little more even though they tend to keep expectations low in this regard. Aside from a private bathroom, television and Wi-Fi Internet, the room features are sparse.
