Positive Reviews

Friendly, welcoming staff with local knowledge.

Guests comment that staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating, and that they seem to have vast local knowledge. Guests single out Thomas as being a fountain of knowledge when it comes to local history. Staff also seem to be happy to provide maps and recommendations on places to see and visit.

Lovely, lively Irish town.

A number of guests state that Derry is a lovely, lively Irish town, with plenty to see and do in the way of tourist attractions, as well as a vibrant nightlife and a range of good quality restaurants and bars.

Clean and comfortable bedrooms.

Bedrooms seem to be clean and comfortable and generally well maintained and well appointed. Guests comment that beds are comfortable, and that rooms are warm and of a decent size.

Negative Reviews

A difficult walk back from town.

A few guests comment on the walk back from the town centre, which is reportedly up a very steep hill. Guests comment that the walk into town is fine, but that the 15 minute uphill walk is difficult, and that taking a taxi is advisable. Guests do add that taxis are reasonably priced.

Some shower issues.

A couple of guests report issues with showers. Showers are reportedly small and difficult to operate.

Lack of hospitality facilities in some bedrooms.

There are a few reviews that mention that no hospitality facilities, including a kettle, are provided in their bedrooms. This suggests that not all rooms come equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities.
