Positive Reviews

Ideal location for Continental travellers

The Dover Eastern Docks Ferry Terminal is less than a mile from the hotel; the Dover Western Docks Ferry Terminal is just shy of a mile-and-a-half away, and the Channel Tunnel is around 15-minutes' drive to the west How's that for Continent-bound convenience?.

Owner is extremely hospitable

Welcoming, helpful and brimming with local knowledge, the owner of the The West Bank is the kind of person who makes this hospitality lark look easy! If you're lucky, you may even get treated to an impromptu guitar recital at breakfast!

Very homely feel about the place

The guest bedrooms are quaint and cosy, like the inside of a doll's house, while the lounge and breakfast areas are adorned with lots of lovely beams and Victoriana trinkets – and it all feels very nice indeed!

Negative Reviews

Secure parking can be inconvenient

If you're planning on travelling in the early hours (i e to catch an early ferry crossing) then you may want to think twice about leaving your vehicle in the hotel's secure car park overnight – it doesn't re-open again until 07 00!

In-room Wi-Fi is a little unpredictable

Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it's not Booster box anyone?.

Mornings can be noisy at times

Squawking seagulls, a nearby busy road and guests leaving in the early hours are all common features here Be sure to bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
