Positive Reviews

Awesome host!

Previous guests admired Jeff, the host, for being extremely nice and accommodating. He responded to every request with professionalism. Although there were minor problems, he did his best to handle and fix each issue in a good manner. Aside from that, he was also helpful in giving directions and in modifying accommodations for everyone.

Unique, quaint furnishing

The north “woodsy” style of the place attracted the guests. They loved the quaint decors with intricate details and the woodworking on all the fixtures from the lobby to the rooms. The cosy set up made them feel at home and welcomed since it felt like staying in a cabin.

Perfect place for hikers and bikers

Free use of bicycles, kayaks and canoe was provided, which guests definitely enjoyed! Bikes are available to use on the Munger Trail just alongside the property. In addition, the management provides free passes for up to four people to the Lake Superior Zoo that is also located a few steps down the street.

Negative Reviews

Overall property looks old

According to guests, this property is an old-fashioned roadside motel that needs to be modernised. It has old pine walls, carpet, bed, and sofa that all looked tired. Furthermore, the entire room had a musty smell. Guests suggested that this property should have some upgrade.

Small bathroom - needs improvement

Aside from its small size, guests commented that the bathroom was too small and a bit worn down. The water pressure was intermittent too. Moreover, there was no towel rack and the shower bar kept falling.

Poor in-room lighting

Guests were not impressed with the room lighting. The room was coloured dark brown and everything was dark inside. Although inns are indeed usually dark, guests recommended it would be better if they will instal brighter lights.
