About Badjao

Badjao is a family-run guesthouse set in a Victorian stone house in the Slateford area of Edinburgh, just a few miles from the city centre.

There are three rooms available for rent: a large family room, a double room and a single. Each has a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. They all share a common bathroom.

Badjao offers complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the residence and 24-hour access.

A cooked breakfast is prepared to order each morning in the kitchen. There is also a popular Indian restaurant, Jashans, a couple of minutes' walk away, as well as a few snack bars and takeaways.

There are regular bus services stopping near the guesthouse and going to the airport and towards the city centre, stopping by Edinburgh Castle. Murrayfield Stadium can be reached by foot in about 25 minutes, whilst Holyrood House is about a 20-minute drive away.

Positive Reviews

Great value B&B

If you're looking for somewhere to stay for a night or two that won't cost you an arm and a leg, guests would wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse. You won't have any whistles and bells, but the rates are reasonable and the place is comfortable and clean with Wi-Fi available.

Lovely host

Guests find the landlady to be absolutely delightful and charming. She has a lovely nature and is very attentive towards her guests.

Great bus service

You may not be in the city centre itself, but guests confirm that getting there is not much of a problem. There are lots of buses stopping right in front of the guesthouse which can take you to the city centre or to the airport. If you're coming by car, you can drive into central Edinburgh in about ten minutes and have the added advantage of being able to park on the street nearby for free.

Negative Reviews

A bit basic all in all

Guest comment that the guesthouse is nothing out of the ordinary and even a bit dated. The breakfasts, served in a small kitchen, are not much to write home about either. Whilst there's nothing particularly wrong with them, it is pretty standard fare.

Small rooms

Guests comment that certain rooms are not very spacious and cramped. You'll also have to put up with a shared bathroom.

Quite far from the centre

If you want to be in the thick of the action in central Edinburgh, this B&B may not be the most convenient. Guests say it is a bit far out.
