Armada Hotel Manila (Manila, Philippines)

There are two restaurants at the hotel. One on the ground-floor and a Thai restaurant on the top floor. The top floor gives you a fantastic bay view. The location is busy and near historical sites and Rizal Park. The location is just about the best if you have an early morning flight from the international airport.

Beds are wide and comfortable, rooms are nicely furnished, staff is polite, and the room amenities are adequate. The swimming pool on top is lovely albeit somewhat small. The facility is easy to find and parking is conveniently underground.

Though the area is extremely busy, the hotel soundproofing is superb. In fact, you will hardly hear a peep from your neighbours inside the hotel. This is fantastic during the evenings when you just want to relax and not hear every word your hotel neighbours say or every move they make.

The hotel area is a bit tacky. It's somewhat run down and located right on the border of the entertainment section of Ermita/Malate. There are a number of brothels in the area as well.

Breakfast is not the best. There is a choice of cheese, sausage, hot foods, but the menu is geared more towards the local cuisine more so than a western clientele.

The Wi-Fi is the pits. You can spend the entire day trying to find a connection and end up with nothing. The same goes for the TV connection in the room. It's come and go.
