While some rooms are apparently showing their age, a hotel-wide renovation is in the works, featuring newly redone concierge rooms on the lower floors. A multi-tiered hotel rehabilitation plan includes replacing all windows, refurbishing the revolving restaurant, La Ronde, and updating any rooms that may be past their prime.
Guests who paid a little extra were happy to do so to receive access to free beverages, including evening cocktails, snacks and a breakfast. Customers traveling on business were particularly pleased with the concierge space to unwind and socialize after a day of meetings.
Close to the streetcar for Old Strathcona, the Winspear Center, Provincial Legislature grounds, malls and government buildings, guests had no complaints about the location of the Crowne Plaza Edmonton-Chateau Lacombe. Rogers Place, the future home of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team, is a six-minute drive away.
