Dooley's Hotel is run by a family that's been in the hospitality industry for three generations. Popular with tour groups, it offers attentive service.
All rooms at Dooley's Hotel are en suite. They have Wi-Fi access and televisions, along with ironing boards, trouser presses and tea and coffee making facilities.
This three-star property has conference facilities to rent. Furthermore, it frequently hosts special events, such as line dancing nights.
Guests can get continental and full Irish breakfasts, plus dinner at The New Ship Restaurant. Furthermore, the Dry Dock Bar offers meals and beverages throughout the day, plus live music every weekend.
Approximately three-and-a-half miles from the Waterford Retail Park, this property is a ten-minute walk from Reginald's Tower, Ireland's oldest civil building, and a site that was once used by the Vikings. The City Square Shopping Centre is about six minutes away on foot.
Guests noted how this hotel is well located so it's easy to walk to some of Waterford's top attractions. The hotel features views overlooking the river, too. Whether guests wanted to spend the day sightseeing or just relaxing, this property catered to both needs.
The Food is Excellent
The cuisine here received top marks from guests. Although most enjoyed meals in conjunction with their stays, some remarked they'd gladly even just come here to get a meal.
Great Hospitality in a Family-Owned Establishment
Not only is this hotel family owned, but when you stay here, you'll likely feel like a member of the family. Guests reported nothing seemed like too much trouble when they brought needs to the attention of staff, and matters were taken care of with good attitudes. Because of that comprehensive approach to top-notch service, guests often said they looked forward to returning soon.
A Sprawling Building Layout
This property is in a very old building, and some people remarked that the old-fashioned style of the building meant they had to walk quite a distance to reach their rooms. Sometimes this wasn't a problem, but tended to be when guests were travelling with kids or toting lots of bags.
The Rooms Look Very Old
Numerous comments from guests discussed how the rooms are very dated. Although the amenities were usually in functional condition and did not negatively impact comfort, guests still frequently said they thought management should invest in new décor.
Low Water Pressure
When using the shower, you may notice that the water pressure is quite low. That was the experience of many guests. However, they usually just thought the problem was slightly annoying and didn't interfere with their ability to bathe thoroughly.
