Design boutique hotel Mediterranean style with charm, located on the first line of Peñíscola beach, with 2 floors and no elevator. Its excellent location allows our clients to have all the available gastronomic offer, beautiful sea promenades and other attractions without getting too far away, because we are right in the center of Peñíscola. Our hotel has 20 rooms, 10 of them with exquisite views of the sea and the castle of Peñíscola, 4 Deluxe rooms (2 of them with sea views), 6 with balcony and 2 interiors. 4 of our rooms have 2 separate beds and the rest with double beds. The building has been completely remodeled to begin the summer season of 2018. The concept with which it has been conceived focuses especially on adults, although we offer cots for children up to 2 years, included in the price of the room and can also be host children, as long as it does not exceed the capacity of a room (2 people); in this case another room must be reserved. Clients have at their disposal free Wi-Fi, Smart TV, air conditioning, magnetic keys, hair dryer, heater in the bathroom, iron, minibar and completely renovated rooms. The reception is open until 0: 00h on weekends and summer season, and until 23: 00h out of season.

The hotel offers a charming and intimate stay, distinguished by its prime beachfront location directly opposite the sea and offering stunning views of the castle. This makes it an ideal choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway and sightseers eager to explore the historic old town and nearby attractions. Guests consistently highlight the hotel's exceptional cleanliness and the generally friendly and helpful staff who contribute significantly to a positive experience. The rooms, while often described as compact, are praised for their modern design and comfortable ambiance. To make the most of your visit, consider requesting a room with a sea or castle view for an enhanced experience, and be mindful that some rooms may have limited space, which is a common observation among guests. The hotel's cozy atmosphere and strategic position are frequently cited as reasons for repeat visits.
Facilities & Amenities
The hotel, being a smaller boutique establishment, offers a more focused set of amenities. While there are no on-site dining facilities, Wi-Fi is available, though some guests experienced intermittent connectivity issues. Rooms are equipped with a minibar, though contents are typically paid, and some found the selection limited. Guests should note that standard in-room amenities like a hairdryer or basic toiletries may need to be requested from reception. The hotel features an elevator for convenience, but its small size can be a challenge, particularly for those with strollers. Air conditioning is present in rooms, but a few visitors reported it to be less effective or noisy. There is no swimming pool or fitness center on the premises, aligning with the hotel's boutique concept. Some rooms also lack basic comforts such as a wardrobe, chairs, or a table, which can impact convenience for longer stays.
Cleanliness & Room Comfort
Guests consistently commend the hotel for its exceptional cleanliness, noting a continuous fresh and clean scent throughout the premises and in the rooms. The rooms are generally described as modern, well-decorated, and chic, often appearing newly refurbished. However, a recurring theme is the small size of many rooms, with some guests finding them cramped or lacking sufficient space for movement or luggage storage. Feedback on bed comfort is mixed; many found the beds very comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep, while some reported them to be uncomfortable, too soft, or showing signs of wear. A significant point of concern for several guests is the noise isolation, with thin walls allowing sounds from neighboring rooms, such as talking, snoring, or cleaning activities, to be easily heard. Bathrooms are typically modern, clean, and feature powerful showers, though some noted a lack of shelving for toiletries or issues with glass shower enclosures. Some rooms also experience significant light intrusion in the mornings due to inadequate window coverings.
Dining & Food Quality
The hotel does not feature its own on-site dining facilities, a point consistently noted by guests. Instead, visitors are directed to numerous nearby cafes and restaurants for their meals. For breakfast, many guests found the recommended external options to be excellent, offering a varied selection and ample choices. Some reviews specifically mention a half-board option available at a nearby restaurant, "la mar Salá," which received positive feedback for both its service and the quality of its food. While the convenience of on-site dining is absent, the abundance of local eateries within a short walking distance ensures that guests have a wide array of choices for their culinary needs. This arrangement allows guests to explore the local gastronomic scene rather than being confined to hotel dining.
Location & Accessibility
The hotel's central location is a major highlight, placing guests directly on the beachfront promenade and within a short five-minute walk of the historic castle and old town. This prime position offers easy access to numerous shops, restaurants, and local attractions, making it highly convenient for exploring the area on foot. Regarding parking, feedback is varied; while some guests found free street parking available during off-peak seasons, others noted that parking can be expensive, especially in underground facilities, or challenging to find. Public transport options, such as a nearby bus stop with routes to other towns, are also accessible. However, the hotel's entrance presents an accessibility challenge due to the presence of several stairs and the absence of a ramp, which can be inconvenient for guests with strollers or those with reduced mobility.
Staff & Service
The hotel staff consistently receives high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness, and attentiveness. Many guests highlighted the exceptional service provided by the reception team, who are described as welcoming, efficient, and eager to offer local recommendations and assistance with various requests. The check-in and check-out processes are generally noted as quick and agile, contributing to a smooth experience. Staff members are often commended for going the extra mile, such as providing special touches for celebrations or offering solutions for issues like mosquitoes. However, feedback on staff is not uniformly positive; a minority of guests reported negative interactions, describing some receptionists as rude, dismissive, or lacking in customer service skills when addressing concerns or complaints. Despite these isolated incidents, the overall sentiment regarding the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction remains largely positive.
Additional Information
This charming establishment is frequently described as a small boutique hotel, typically featuring around twenty rooms, contributing to its intimate and cozy atmosphere. Guests often note a pleasant, fresh scent permeating the lobby and common areas, enhancing the welcoming ambiance. A few visitors reported issues with mosquitoes, but the hotel staff were responsive in providing solutions like repellent plugs. It is important for guests to be aware of the hotel's policy regarding lost items, as some reviews indicate that the hotel does not assume responsibility for belongings left behind, a point that has caused concern for some. On a more positive note, the hotel has been known to provide thoughtful special details for guests celebrating occasions, adding a personal touch to their stay. One review also pointed out a discrepancy between the hotel's online star rating and a physical sign indicating a lower star rating.
