Many guests choose this hotel for the short commute to Legoland, Thorpe Park, or other family attractions and are delighted to find the hotel is itself truly family friendly. Children are offered a welcome pack, which includes balloons, popcorn, and sweets. Several parents gratefully noted that the staff interacts directly with children, making them feel as welcome as the 'grown-ups'. Kids of all ages love the ice cream machine in the restaurant, and the pool, while on the smaller side, is also a treat after a long trip.

Air travellers also rave about the Marriott Heathrow Windsor as it is well connected to the terminals with the Hoppa service and, if necessary, the Heathrow Express, which is free. Guests travelling by car find it easy to find, right off the M4, and convenient for commuting into Windsor or Eton. It is also easy to get to or from central London via the Slough railway station, which is about ten minutes away.

The rooms are often described as "spotless", with comfortable furnishings and plenty of space. Several have commented on the large televisions and cosy beds.

Many guests are irritated to find that Wi-Fi is not included in the nightly rate, and they find the additional fee to be unreasonable. Others are annoyed by the additional charge for parking, though it is less expensive than the Wi-Fi.

Most guests were very pleased with the selection of hot and cold items at the breakfast buffet, though a few found the scene a bit too chaotic and noisy for their taste.
