Hostel YHA Mountain House (Arthur's Pass, New Zealand)

YHA Arthur’s Pass Mountain House is situated in the alpine village of Arthur's Pass, right on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps, just two short hours from Christchurch and 90 minutes from Greymouth on the West Coast. YHA Arthur’s Pass backpacker accommodation consists of the main backpacker lodge set in the centre of town, a modern, heated suntrap with great views and visiting kea, but still with a small homely feel. Adjacent to our lodge are two fully self contained motel units. They are spacious modern and well appointed with televisions, queen sized beds and electric blankets. Finally, on the edge of the native bush on a quiet side street are our two early 1900's Railway Cottages. These are converted into comfortable modern accommodation, each with their own logburner and a bottomless supply of firewood. These cottages can accommodate up 8 people and can be to be booked solely for your private use. As groceries are expensive and limited in Arthur's Pass Village, we advise you to purchase groceries before you arrive. You can do this in Hokitika or Greymouth on the West Coast or in Christchurch on the East Coast.
