The hotel is in the vicinity of good restaurants and shopping malls. The area actually has some interesting attractions like Lake Champlain but you will have to drive there. The Plattsburgh shopping is great.
You get what you pay for and if you are looking for the basics, then this is the hotel for you. In fact, it's more like a motel and the doors are right outside. It's like you are walking into the front door of your home. It's decent enough to stay in for a couple of nights.
Ceilings dropping down, tattered carpets, loose front doors that don't close properly, dripping sink, it's all a nightmare. Either they need to built the place up or simply tear it down.
The continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. It's too plain without any fruit and other niceties. Cereal, muffins, bagel, toast, is about all you're going to get. The jams and spreads are in jars, which seems a bit unsanitary. The orange juice is even artificial.
If you are traveling with heavy luggage, there's no assistance to help you, so you are on your own.
