Hotel at Water's Edge Resort (Airlie Beach, Australia)

Beautiful ocean views surround this hotel and can be enjoyed from many areas around the property including from the guest room balconies.

The guest rooms at this hotel are very spacious and feature comfortable beds and all the amenities needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay including a full kitchen and large balcony.

Guests reported that they were able to walk to pretty much everything they wanted to see in Airlie Beach within a few minutes.  The main strip, restaurants, parks, shops, cafes and popular attractions are all within an easy stroll of the hotel so a car is not even really needed.

The outside of the building and surrounding property looks run down and the inside is outdated with old-fashioned furnishings and decor.  Guests also reported a smell of mould and uncomfortable beds in the guest rooms

Staff is not available at this hotel after a certain hour and when they are there, they are unhelpful and hard to communicate with.  They flatly refuse to accommodate special requests, they are unfriendly and defensive, they are slow to resolve issues and they don't seem to care when things go wrong.

Guests reported that the swimming pool area is small and not very well maintained and is bordering on dangerous.  There are exposed lighting fixtures near wet areas, there is  very little space to relax around the pool and there are not enough chairs for everyone.
