Base Backpackers Auckland Central is a hostel in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Located in the city centre, it is a short walk to many of Auckland’s attractions, as well as the city’s many bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. Of particular interest nearby is the Sky Tower, New Zealand’s tallest man made structure, Auckland Zoo and Eden Park. The hostel is within the Auckland Central Business District. There is a choice between private rooms and either mixed or female only “Sanctuary” dorms, with some private rooms having an ensuite. The hostel’s facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, two TV lounges with satellite television and luggage storage. There is also an onsite internet café with wifi and the hostel’s own “Globe Bar”. Security patrols the building and a secure access system is in use. A travel centre is available to provide guests with tourist information and the reception is open 24 hours a day. Base Backpackers Auckland Central is within easy reach of the train, bus and ferry terminals and the airport shuttle stops right outside.
