Guests say that the hotel is well located in downtown Victoria with popular destinations being only five to ten-minutes walk away, so they do not need to use their car while there.
Staff at Best Western Carlton Plaza are found to be polite and welcoming. They provide excellent service, and are eager to help guests by accommodating any requests where they can, not mention quickly resolving any negative issues which may arise. Staff are happy to offer advice about local attractions and dining options, too.
The hotel is happy to lend its guests complimentary bicycles to get around Victoria, a service that goes down really well. The service is novel, fun and above all free!
Parking is available at Best Western Carlton Plaza but this is valet parking which incurs an additional daily cost. Guests would appreciate parking being included in the room rate and note that as the valet parking is off-site it does take approximately 15-minutes for their car to be available.
On the plus side, Best Western Carlton Plaza offers complimentary Wi-Fi to all its guests. This is clearly a good thing. However, as can be the case with older buildings, the Wi-Fi signal is not very strong, with guests reporting the quality of the connection to be hit-and-miss.
Some guests have noted that, while the rooms at Best Western Carlton Plaza are generally considered to be clean and comfortable, some of the rooms are on the smaller side and this can make the stay feel less comfortable than ideal.
