The location of the Best Western is convenient and close to Great America, shopping malls and Santa Clara University. Also, it’s close to the San Jose Airport, but guests said they did not hear plane or street noise at night, making for a calm, peaceful night.
Guests enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet that offered fares like scrambled eggs, waffles and pastries. But remember to get there early as it gets difficult to find seating during peak breakfast time.
Guests were pleasantly surprised to find that their rooms came equipped with a refrigerator and microwave so they had options to eat in, rather than dine at restaurants. The rooms were clean and redecorated with contemporary interiors.
Guests commented that rooms had a particular worn and musty smell. Several guests commented that the rooms felt a bit stuffy and had a strange smell emanating from the closet and the furniture. It is unclear what caused the smell that several guests complained about.
Guests expressed surprise that for what they paid at the hotel, the Best Western didn’t quite meet their expectations. They said the rooms were clean and decent, and that for the rates they were charged, they expected something more. The rates are a bit more expensive because this is the Bay Area where things just cost more – especially hotels.
Some guests said their issues about their rooms and their reservations were not taken care of in a timely manner. They complained that the staff appeared apathetic and did not take customer service seriously.
