Big Horn Lodge is situated in the heart of Canyonlands National Park and is near to Dead Horse Point State Park. This hotel specialises in offering accommodation deals which include outdoor activities such as white water rafting. Rooms are clad with pine for a traditional log cabin feel. Accommodation has queen beds, coffee makers, refrigerator, microwaves, free Wi-Fi and TVs with HBO. Pet rooms are also available and there is free parking. Big Horn Lodge features an outdoor, heated pool. There is a tour desk where guests can book a range of activities such as horseback riding, cowboy dinners, hiking and mountain biking. The onsite restaurant, The Moab Grill Restaurant serves three meals a day, every day of the week. Wine and beer are also available. Slickrock Bike Trail begins ten minutes drive from the motel. Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park are both a half hour drive.

This motel represents very good value for money. It provides spacious, clean rooms which have good facilities within them for a very reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to provide information about the locality or trips and activities.
The motel provides free parking spaces and is near enough to Moab that guests can walk from the motel and to the town's restaurants and bars. Having so many bike and hiking trails so nearby is wonderful and most guests simply sleep at the motel and spend their days exploring the stunning scenery.
The dark and knotty pine rooms may not be to everyone's taste, however the interiors of this hotel do offer something a little more unique than the more typical motel accommodation where one looks exactly like another. Rooms are also kept immaculately clean.
Some found the air conditioning units to be very noisy when running. Even when it is turned off, the units in neighbouring rooms can be equally noisy and the sounds penetrate. Sounds from vehicles on the highway can also cause some disturbance.
The outdoor pool isn't particularly large and won't accommodate large groups of people at the same time. It also isn't heated. When the weather outside is particularly hot, the cool water of the pool is pleasant, but at other times some found the water too cold for their liking.
During hot weather rooms can get very stuffy and hot. The air conditioning may be set to low prior to guests arriving and it may take some hours for the units to cool down to more comfortable levels.
