About Blue Jacktar

The show runs every year from June to September in the historic Planter's Barn Museum and is dedicated to keep the memory of the famous writer alive. During the show visitors get the chance to "meet" Mark Twain in a recreation of the more than 100 year old Mark Twain shows. Mark Twain himself has staged those shows all over the world and due to the large amount of material, the contents of the show, which has been performed in more than 40 US states, changes regularly. The Planter's Barn Museum, built in 1849, is closely linked to Samuel Clemens as it was built during his boyhood days in Hannibal. Originally it was constructed to serve as a stable for the Planter's Boarding House and later belonged to his childhood friend Will Bowen.
