Guest commented that the personnel are very knowledgeable about the hotel and the surrounding areas and can give great recommendations.

Guests loved the location of the hotel. It is in close proximity to the central historical area of the Port of Spain, close to shopping and dining. With the hotel situated on top of a hill, don't miss out the gorgeous views from the rooftop terrace.

The food at both of Carlton Savannah's restaurants gets lots of compliments. RELISH's small-plate based menu features bite size meals, perfect for sharing with friends. The atmosphere is casual and social, perfect for meeting new or old friends. CaSa serves dinner only in a modern luxurious atmosphere. Both the food and the decor is a mix of multi-cultural aspects with influence of local flavor.

The Wi-Fi connection is quite unstable, as a few guests even mentioned not being able to use it during their stay. However, the IT staff is reportedly responsive and will quickly attempt to resolve any problems, should you run into them. When the Wi-Fi stays connected, it is quite fast.

The hotel has quite a history so it is no surprise that it is now showing its age. Guests say the rooms and the hotel itself could use a facelift. The furniture looks too worn, the walls have paint scuffs, the rugs need replacement and there is a musty smell in the hallways.

The parking is free but it is across the street, which may be a problem if you have a lot of luggage. Plan ahead to unload at the lobby before you park.
