The hotel has a very friendly and dedicated staff. Many of the employees have worked there for over twenty years. By the second day of your stay, they will know you by your first name and remember what you like to drink.
If you're looking for an affordable but clean hotel in Cancun, Casa Maya is here. It is not only very family-friendly, but child-friendly as well. The beach is also very clean and within short walking distance of the hotel.
Although it's an older property, this guesthouse is very well maintained. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast buffet is hot and delicious, with a huge variety of choice.
While the location of Casa Maya is strategic, the old building is not. While the rooms are spacious, you will find the furniture and décor is dated, with little evidence of maintenance throughout the years.
You may not receive your room key without first sitting with a sales representative to hear a timeshare presentation. The sales reps will offer you free drinks, money, and breakfast for listening to the pitch. They can be very demanding and pushy.
While the beach is within close proximity of the hotel, the rooms are not up to par. You will find very loud air conditioning units, and very few amenities in the kitchenette. The kitchenette also does not offer a sink, so you will need to do dishes in the bathroom sink.
