The hotel earned many positive nods from reviewers for its value. Many visitors felt that, while not a five-star establishment, the Aqua Dora Resort delivered above expectations when compared against similarly priced hotels. Sun beds are free on the beach, rare for many hotels of this size.

Guests regularly remarked that the hotel could use a bit of work. Even those who were satisfied with their stay admitted that some areas of the hotel are looking old and dilapidated. For some travellers, the less-than-ideal state of the building was simply too much to take.

Several guests noted that the hotel's walls were so thin that they could easily hear the comings and goings of everyone around them. This meant that nighttime hours were not very restful. In some halls, the doors have to be slammed to shut properly, making it difficult to get a good night's rest.

Many negative reviews noted that the first two floors are a particularly sore spot for the hotel. In recent years, there has been plenty of work on the floors, but according to reviews, there is still more to be done. Those who were put in a room on the bottom floors often asked for a new location.
