Located centrally in Ensenada, Baja Inn Cortez is a short stroll away from the main shopping area, cafes, restaurants and nightlife. Several attractions, including the Riviera Cultural Center, the State Center for the Arts, Civica Plaza, the Caracol Museum Ensenada Regional History Museum can be reached within a ten-minute walk.
The guest rooms which are furnished with simple and colorful decor are clean and comfortable with plenty of room to move. All the necessary amenities are included, and guests can also enjoy the outdoor pool area which is kept clean and is decked with lounge chairs.
The staff at both the front desk and the attached restaurants have been described as friendly, helpful and attentive. At times problems have been known to arise in the hotel and staff have attempted to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.
Some guests complained that the hotel has ‘thin' walls and is poorly insulated from noise. The hallways and the floors in the guest rooms are also tiled which adds to the noise. Housekeeping attends the rooms daily and light sleepers may be disturbed by the noise of the cleaning cart rolling by in the mornings.
Despite many favorable reviews, some guests found the hotels and its facilities to be old and outdated. Complaints have also been made about the air conditioning which does not always function reliably. Rooms can become uncomfortably hot and stuffy when the air conditioning unit doesn't function.
