Guests reported that they were honored an early check-in when they arrived early, staff are helpful in guiding guests to the best things to see and do in the area and they are quick to resolve issues and offer compensation when it 's due.
The breakfast served each morning consists of a large variety of delicious, well-prepared items served in a clean and spacious dining area. Guests also reported that staff were friendly and accommodating and allow guests extra time to order past the normal breakfast time.
Guests reported that this hotel is in an ideal location just off the main highway that allows for easy access to many nearby towns and attractions.
The swimming pool area is not well-maintained and guests reported that there are lots of bugs left in the pool, trash is left around for days at a time and the towel hamper is not emptied very frequently.
Some guests reported that the guest rooms were not as expected and had some issues including mold in the bathrooms, malfunctioning electrical outlets, dirty and tattered carpet, missing dresser drawers, cracked floor tiles and sinks that don't drain properly. Also reported was a musty smell, torn shower curtains, burnt out light bulbs, water damage on the walls and ceiling and dated decor.
Peace and quiet can be hard to come by at times at the Country Inn & Suites San Marcos due to a high level of noise coming from different sources. A combination of loud traffic on the road outside, loud air conditioning units and loud music coming from the lobby area downstairs makes it hard to relax during certain times of the day.
