Hotel Deluxe (Portland, USA)

Originally built in 1912, this brilliant boutique venue was fully renovated, re-opening in 2006 as Hotel deLuxe of Portland. Having retained much of its traditional charm, it now has additional modernized conveniences and a new Hollywood Glam theme. Set back a bit from the bustle, it's quiet but still easy walking distance to plenty of downtown attractions and the Pearl District. A popular wedding setting, the elegant decor creates the perfect backdrop for any event. The on-site dining options are delightful, offering daily breakfast with a very popular Eggs Benedict, and classy cocktails in the evening.

With very comfortable mattresses, uber soft sheets and a pillow menu to choose from, these rooms will surely relax and rejuvenate even the most stressed out of souls. Fresh, naturally-scented Aveda bath products, modern docking stations, tasteful decor and stunning views from upper floors. Pet-friendly accommodations are available for a fee.

The staff is exemplary from arrival to departure. The minute you drive up to the entrance, the valet and doormen are on the job welcoming you and getting on task with your luggage. Front desk follows suit with a skilled, brief check-in process, provides you with a handy map of the area, and then away to your cozy room you'll be. They won't mind giving suggestions and/or directions for dining or entertainment, either. Stylish staff outfits set the tone for professionalism throughout.

A few had noise problems with neighboring and/or upstairs guests. Staff will do what they can, but bring your earplugs.

Some felt their room was too small for the price. Ask for a suite if you need more space.

As a popular wedding/event venue, the facilities can get rather crowded, noisy and busy on event dates.
