Guests rave about the professionalism of this hotel staff. They offer exceptional service, and are genuinely kind and pleasant. They offer a warm welcome and the service continues from there. The Detroit area and its suburbs can be overwhelming, but this staff is great at giving directions as well as recommendations on places to eat.
This hotel is ideally located near Detroit, with many restaurants and shops nearby on Big Beaver Road. This hotel is next to Somerset Mall, a luxury, high-end mall with many top-of-the-line shops. This hotel is just a five-minute drive to Birmingham. It's close enough to Detroit to be convenient for attending events like Tigers and Lions games. It's also within an easy drive of the DTE music venue.
Rooms offer the typical Marriott layout, and are clean and comfortable. You'll find lovely amenities like thick, plush towels, nice linens, good mattresses, a small fridge, coffee maker, and TV with HD channels. These rooms feel like home.
Guests report being able to hear doors opening and closing in the hallways, as they seem to slam shut regardless of how gently you close them. Walls are quite thin and if your room is near the elevator, you will hear the noise it creates. You may want to bring a pair of earplugs for sleeping.
If you are not a Marriott rewards member, you will have to pay a fee for use of the Internet. This extra charge rubs some guests the wrong way, as so many other hotels now offer free Internet.
