Don Pelayo Pacific Beach is located in an excellent location that encompasses everything visitors would want in a beach vacation. The beach, which has many restaurants lining it, is only two minutes away, The Golden Zone area is within walking distance, a bus stop is right in front of the hotel and the ocean views around the property are beautiful.
The very spacious rooms allow guests to move freely and each has a kitchenette that allows guests to prepare their own meals. Guests also reported the bathrooms are large and luxurious, all appliances are brand new, the decor is nice and modern and everything is spotlessly clean.
Guests reported that the swimming pool is absolutely beautiful and is its own little paradise within paradise. The water temperature is just right and it's always clean, the area around it is well-maintained, there's a water slide and it's all safe for all ages.
There is a strange smell around the hotel and sometimes in the rooms and guests have compared it to a sewage-like odor. There is a smell of mildew in some areas as well.
The elevators at this hotel are not in good condition. They break down a lot which means guests are stuck walking up and down the stairs with their luggage.
With all the noise coming from loud air conditioning units, loud kids running in the corridors and knocking on doors, heavy traffic on the street outside and music coming from nearby bars, it's hard to get any sleep at Don Pelayo Pacific Beach.
