Free breakfast buffet, good value.
Those who stayed here generally found it to be comfortable, good value, and fairly clean for a hostel. On top of this, the free buffet breakfast is good and there plenty to go around, but keep in mind you may not get this if you are in one of the external apartments.
Welcoming staff, sociable atmosphere.
The staff here is said to be very welcoming and friendly, on shift around the clock and great at creating a cosy and fun hostel atmosphere. Some guests have described it as a party hostel, with a popular common area for everyone to meet in for a few drinks, and the staff always trying to get everyone involved for events like bar crawls.
Light sleepers beware.
Those considering Flamingo should be aware that there can be a fair amount of noise from your young fellow guests, since it it quite a social hostel. In addition, there can also be noise from the rooms that are facing the street, so light sleepers may want to look elsewhere.
Problem solving could be better.
Despite a friendly reception, a small number of guests thought that the staff responsiveness to problems and complaints was not so good, and were left frustrated when they had issues with their rooms.
