The hotel dates back to the Victorian era and guests were pleased to find that the building retains many original period features. The communal rooms including the lobby and the dining room have been described as very elegant and well-appointed and guests enjoyed spending time in the comfortable lounge, reading or having a few pre-dinner drinks. .

The hotel overlooks the ocean and the beach is just a short stroll away from the main building. Guests appreciated not having to get in their cars to reach the local attractions and also found it convenient being close to many local bars and restaurants.
