This is an enchanting historic spot within an easy stroll of the famous Dufferin Terrace. The cheap continental breakfast is tasty and quick, while the room rates are very reasonable for the location. You won't need to use a car for much, if anything, as all the best attractions are within walking distance.
The rooms have what you'll need, but not much extra. Some of the balcony views over the river and boardwalk are outstanding. Tidy and well-maintained overall.
The staff are helpful and friendly, while the owner enjoys talking to guests about the area and advising on tours, reservations and directions anytime.
You may have a bit of difficulty with the Wi-Fi staying connected here. Never fear: Quebec City has a Starbucks with Wi-Fi if you happen to find yourself in a bind.
Four floors with no lift available may prove too challenging for some. Request a lower level accommodation if you have a lot of heavy luggage or mobility issues.
Since the building was built in 1830, there's bound to be some antiquity about the place. Most rooms are quite adequate, although average, but a few outdated features definitely stand out. Furnishings and amenities are a bit on the old side while carpeting is tired and even visibly dirty in some areas - most of it needs replaced pronto. Basement rooms lack the views the upper floors have to make up for the outdated decor. Bathrooms are small and grout needs a scrubbing.
