The majority of guests were very impressed with the on-site facilities that the Hampton Village Resort had; the swimming pool is well-maintained, well-sized and well worth a visit. The sauna and spa tub were met with a similarly positive response and were considered a highlight of their stay by many a guest.
Hampton Village Resort is located in close proximity to a number of the town's attractions, attractions that include a nearby beach that is relaxing and scenic, as well as a golf club and the nearby town of Downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire. There are several shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel's location and the Tuck Museum and the Seacoast Fire Museum are also within walking distance. Guests will be hard pressed to be short of activities during their stay at this hotel.
The staff are extremely friendly and personable, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will make guests feel at home upon arrival. They are happy to make recommendations about the surrounding area and they will gladly accommodate any requests or queries guests may have.
A number of guests found the smell that lingered in the resort to be displeasing; some guests found that the smell of stale cigarettes clung to their room, presumably from past guests. Others found that there was a mildew-type smell that lingered in the accommodation and they found this disappointing.
The mattresses were cited as being uncomfortable and unsupportive by some guests who felt that they did not have a very good night's sleep because of this.
The breakfast provided was deemed unsatisfying by a number of guests who felt that the food options provided were bland, tasteless and limited though some guests felt that inverse of this opinion and enjoyed the food.
