Unexpectedly good breakfast
If you like to start the day with a great breakfast, then this hotel's breakfast will not be disappointing at all. Visitors are pleasantly surprised by the spread of dishes provided, and the hot and cold varieties available. You will be able to finish off with a hot, flavoured cup of coffee; or two if you feel like it.
positive:
Easy access to town
It is literally a five to ten minute walk to the centre of town, and if you don't want to walk, then bus 405 will take you straight there. Visitors love the quiet natural surroundings the hotel, but having the city so close is really convenient too.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bathroom needs work
A few travellers have complained about the bathrooms not being up to scratch, and being left pretty dirty from the previous guests. They are, according to guests, long overdue for an upgrade, where taps are old and a little mouldy.
negative:
Soundproofing needs work
The walls at Hanley Oaks have been described as paper thin by quite a few visitors, and you can hear your next door neighbour's conversations quite clearly. You could request a room at the end of the passage, or just bring a set of ear plugs with.
negative:
Temperature control not adequate
Some travellers have commented that the heating seems to be centrally set, so if you wish to change the temperature yourself, you can't. This leaves some guests feeling rather too hot, or too cold.
