positive:
A lovely setting
The property has a beautiful garden and a really nice swimming pool. The courtyard area outside is very pretty, with a fountain, and everywhere is well landscaped. It is an enjoyable and relaxing place to spend some time. Also, the bar has good music in the evening.
positive:
A sense of the past
As its name would suggest, Historic Santa Maria Inn is a good place to stay if you have an interest in history. The antiques and pictures from yesteryear are really interesting.

An update would be good
Although Historic Santa Maria Inn does retain a feeling of the past very well, a few aspects of the hotel could still use a revamp. Some of the paint is chipped pain and the carpets are worn. Certain items of furniture are past their best as well. The floors are quite uneven too, so watch your step. They are creaky as well.
negative:
Not the best start to the day
The breakfast isn't amazing for the price you pay. You might leave for the day feeling a little unsatisfied. Similarly, meals in the evening are fairly pricey. Although these are generally of a high standard, they are still rather expensive.
negative:
Quite tight
While some guestrooms are spacious, others are much smaller, meaning there isn't much room to spread out.
