Guests loved the location of Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Smoky Mountain Resort, which was minutes from the Smoky Mountains, and close to all the shops in town. The Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park was a favorite stop for guests, with mini golf, an aerial tramway, and wildlife enclosure just 15 minutes from the hotel.
Impressive customer service was noticed by many staying at this resort. Guests commented that the hotel manager provided a personal cell phone number for concerns needing immediate attention. They also experienced friendly attitudes from staff during their stay.
The villas at this resort accommodated large groups comfortably. Spacious living quarters where well-designed for privacy, allowing guests with kids, or friends traveling together, to have their own area. Groups as large as eight people shared one unit with ease.
Guests were disappointed after the occasional encounter with a sales person selling condos at Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Smoky Mountain Resort. Assertive sales people were sometimes hard to get rid of, and many guests felt that this interaction took away from precious vacation time.
Guests of this hotel who wished for a quick check-in process were sometimes let down. Front desk personnel could have been more efficient, according to guests, and parking passes needed to be obtained in a second location from the concierge.
Most guests experienced an overall great stay at this resort. While the good outweighed the bad, some had concerns with an outdoor pool that needed better tending, and rooms that weren't soundproof. Several recommended asking for a top floor room to avoid noise from other guests.
