It seems that the housekeeping team at the hotel is on the ball when it comes to keeping the property in great shape. Guests report very few issues with either the rooms or communal areas of the property, focusing instead on how clean and comfortable everything is.
Guests love being able to walk to major attractions such as the Alamo and Market Square, although many also comment how convenient it is to be able to use the hotel's free shuttle service. Plus, there are numerous opportunities to indulge in shopping and dining nearby.
Feedback suggests that guests are more than happy with the asking price for the rooms, especially since there's a great selection of freebies thrown in. You'll be able to keep more money in your pocket thanks to free amenities such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, newspapers, and the shuttle. Unusually, for such a central location, even the parking is on the house.
Although the hotel is clean and comfortable, guests do raise occasional concerns about the level of on-going maintenance. It doesn't seem like anything will ruin your stay, but you may notice minor issues such as chips and scratches on walls and worn carpets.
While the proximity of this hotel to attractions appealed to many guests, some found the immediate neighborhood felt a little unsafe at night thanks to abandoned buildings and homeless sleepers in the area. Female guests didn't want to walk alone at night.
The free breakfast attracts both positive and negative feedback. Many guests thought it was perfectly adequate, especially since it came at no cost. Others thought it was below average for the HIE brand and felt that it did not offer enough fresh fruit.
