About Hotel ibis Alicante
Ibis Alicante Hotel is situated on the sea front, and located within easy travelling distance of the International Airport and the Exhibition Centre.
All guest rooms are non-smoking and have en-suite shower rooms, and are air-conditioned. Rooms have Wi-Fi Internet access, multi-channel TV, and supremely comfortable Sweet Beds. A hair dryer is obtainable from reception.
Ibis Alicante Hotel is within 5km of the city centre, and 6km of the railway station, the hotel's location and the availability of a business corner and a meeting room make it an ideal base for business as well as leisure travellers.
Breakfast, served in the hotel restaurant, features an all-you-can-eat buffet continental breakfast, and also incorporates local specialities, amply setting you up for the day ahead.
Visit the Castillo de Santa Barbara. The theme park at Terra Mitici Benidorm is worth the trip of about 40km.
The Ibis Hotel Alicante is handy for the airport, more so than for the town, and for guests who have cars it has the advantage of secure on-site car parking: an advantage here over a nearby competitor. This is a clean and well equipped hotel, not in the luxury class, but not in that price bracket either.
The reception is friendly and efficient. Guest who phoned unexpectedly, having missed their flight, were impressed by the standard of service from the receptionist who then morphed into a waitress later in the evening. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning which is pretty essential for most of the year.
The buffet breakfast is tasty and varied, and served from a reasonably early hour if you are catching a flight.
Out of Town.
The location is not ideal for holidaymakers, and certainly not so if they do not have a car, the hotel is on a busy roadside, away from the town, and the beach and sea opposite cannot be accessed directly as there is a railway line in between. It is a long walk into Alicante from here.
A guest points out that if you book a taxi to the airport here at the hotel there is an added charge of about 50% over the fare that you pay picking up a taxi 2 minutes' walk from the gate.
Some guests describe the breakfast as very basic, others were disappointed with the restaurant and bar, finding glasses dirty, and decided to eat elsewhere. It is suggested that it is wise to ask for a room away from the busy main road. A number of guests were not impressed by the standard of catering. Overall this is a budget, not a luxury, hotel and reasonably priced as such with the great benefit of secure parking.
