About InterContinental Boston
On the waterfront in historic downtown Boston, the Hotel InterContinental is pure class. With plush rooms and four star amenities, the hotel is also within walking distance of the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, BSA Space, and Independence Wharf.
Guestrooms come loaded with paperless check-out, dual-line phones with voicemail, handheld showers, safe, minibar, sound system, work desk, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, free Wi-Fi, and an HD cable TV.
The hotel offers 24 hour reception, gift shop, valet parking, water taxi (surcharge), laundry/dry cleaning, babysitting services, ATM, concierge, indoor pool, currency exchange, courtesy Wi-Fi, business facilities, a spa and health club, and accessibility options.
Guests of the Hotel InterContinental can enjoy several bars and restaurants, including a Provence-styled brasserie, sushi, Latin appetizers, and seafood on the terrace.
The hotel is a five to ten minute walk from the Boston Children’s Museum, the Samuel Adams Statue, the Waterfront, and the New England Aquarium.
Immerse yourself in Boston
If you want the all-inclusive downtown Boston experience, the Hotel InterContinental is the perfect spot to start. From downtown, you're located on the water and can walk to historic sites like Boston Common and Faneuil Hall within minutes.
Whether you've come to Boston for the city or the coast (or both), the hotel provides you with some gorgeous scenery. From your room, you can relax peacefully and enjoy the sunrise across the city or sunset on the water, depending on your preference.
Choices, choices, choices (for dining)
Even if you never leave the hotel, you'd have a hard time getting bored with the dining options. You can choose from Latin-fusion appetizers, a vodka-themed seafood restaurant, a sit-down sashimi experience, or an old-world brasserie with a contemporary twist.
While the Hotel InterContinental provides an on-site parking lot and valet parking, a number of guests have noted that the rates for parking are very expensive. On the other hand, you're unlikely to find cheap parking at any downtown venue.
A couple of issues
Overall, guests were impressed with the service and surroundings of the hotel. Still, some visitors had a few issues with stiff beds, harbor views actually being roof views, pricey meals, and racket from the city interrupting their sleep.
In-room Wi-Fi isn't free
The hotel does provide free basic Wi-Fi service in the lobby, but if you require service in your room, the high speed equivalent will cost you extra. Guests of the hotel felt that, for the hotel's steep rates, room-based wireless Internet should be complimentary.
