Overall, guests were pleased with their accommodations, saying that the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The great shower area and strong A/C is highly appreciated, especially on hot day. In addition, most guests were surprised to find a large water cooler in their rooms that is continuously refilled during the stay.
Ixchel Beach is located in a prime area on the North Beach, which most guests describe as one of the best beaches on the island. For convenience, towels, loungers and umbrellas are all available onsite. The location of the hotel is also perfect and within walking distance to the downtown area, including shops, dining and the ferry terminal.
Most guests loved the pool area, though some guests said it was a bit smaller than their expectations.
Several guests found the rooms very basic in decor. Even though the amenities were useful and well-thought out, overall, the room itself didn't have an inviting feel.
Though most guests didn't have a complaint, some did mention that the nearby bar can be a source of nighttime noise. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to request a room away from the bar. However, as a precaution, bringing a pair of earplugs is always recommended.
Several guests had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi. The signal can be weak and hard to connect to at times. However, it is much better in the lobby area.
